Frequently Asked Questions

If you do not find your answer, please feel free to Contact Me with your question, and I will get back to you within 1-2 business days.

1. How far in advance do I need to place my order?

I currently only accept cake orders for weekend dates and will take on one order per any requested date (since it’s just me, myself and I preparing your order) so, it would be best to place your order with at least a minimum of one month advance notice or as soon as possible so that I can reserve your event date. In other words…the sooner the better!

2. Do you offer face-to-face consultations and/or taste testings?

Currently, I do not offer face-to-face consults or taste testings. All discussions for your order are internet-based. Design details for your cake are conducted via email and communication will continue until you are completely satisfied with your choices. Once you have finalized your cake design, a contract, listing all of the details of your order, will be sent to you for your signature to confirm that the information is correct.

3. My date was available, but no longer is. Why is that?

Please note that any date is “tentative” and is open to all inquiries. Only upon receiving a signed contract and retainer is your date officially locked in. If the conversation stops, I will assume that you are no longer interested in my services and you have moved forward with another baker. Once a date is booked, all other inquiries for that date are declined.

4. What do you require to reserve a date?

A non-refundable 50% retainer of the total of your cake order is required to reserve your date.

5. Can I cancel an order?

Since I reserved your event date for your exclusive order, your retainer is not refundable.  Cancellations must be made no later than one month prior to event date, or balance will still be due in full.

6. Can changes be made to my order?

Yes, but I would ask that you please try not to make changes after a week before your event date. I will do my best to accommodate any change requests after that date, but I cannot guarantee it. Please note that certain changes made to an order may be subject to additional charges.

7. Can I pick up my order?

Yes. Please note, however, if you elect to pick up and set up your cake order, you assume all responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves my possession.  Multi-tiered cakes are delivery only.

8. Do you deliver?

Yes. Your cake order includes delivery/set-up within 20 miles (round trip) of my address (Staatsburg, NY). Delivery outside of that area will incur an additional charge of $1.00 per mile.

9. I found an online image of a cake design that I would like, can I send it to you?

Yes, please do! In fact, I encourage people to look online and send me inspirational images so we can brainstorm ideas for your cake!

10. Why aren’t there any prices listed?

Since your order is a custom-made order, pricing varies depending on the intricacy of work/detail for your personal design request. Once I know the design you would like, I can offer you a price quote.

11. Is there a minimum cake order?

Yes, there is a minimum of 40 servings per cake order and a minimum of 3 dozen cupcakes per cupcake order.

12. Can fresh flowers be used to decorate my cake?

Yes, but please acknowledge that many varieties of fresh greenery and flowers are toxic and not a food-safe product and may contain, pesticides, insects, dirt or other contaminants. Please consult with your florist for florals and greenery that are safe to be placed on cakes for consumption.

13. How long are quoted prices good for?

Quoted prices are good for two weeks.  Due to the ever increasing market prices for supplies, unless a retainer has been received to lock in your date, quoted prices are subject to change without notice.  Also, prices for orders booked out beyond 6 months could potentially change due to the rising cost of supplies.
